From Kent's Trees to Kent's Log Burners
At Tree Services LTD, nothing goes to waste. An oak felled in Sevenoaks, a storm-damaged chestnut brought down in Tonbridge, an old ash cleared from a Gravesham garden- every tree we work on gets a second life. Instead of sending timber to landfill, we process it ourselves into seasoned firewood, kindling, and woodchip, then deliver it straight back out to homes and businesses across the county.
It’s about as local as firewood gets: with all our logs starting out as trees from Kent gardens!
Types of Timber We Process
All of our best hardwood is sorted, split, and stacked throughout the year, then barn-stored in ICB cages to season for at least 12 months. It’s ready to burn at under 20% moisture, split into easy-to-handle sizes, and cut for maximum heat efficiency.
Hardwood
Ash, Oak, Maple & Beech Slow-burning, long-lasting High heat output Minimal sparking. Ideal for open fires
Sweet Chestnut & Willow
Sweet Chestnut is technically a hardwood, but it behaves differently in the grate — it lights easily and burns hot and fast. It’s a good choice for wood-burning stoves, but because it can spit and spark more than oak or ash, we’d always recommend it for a closed stove rather than an open fire.
Conifer & Softwood
Conifer ignites exceptionally quickly and produces a rapid, high-temperature heat output. Perfect for getting your log burner or open fire up to temperature quickly from a cold start. Because conifers naturally contain natural resins, they burn with a lively, crackling flame and release a pleasant, natural pine aroma.
Saw Logs
We also supply large saw logs, milled and planked to your specification — perfect if you’re after a statement piece for a dining table, bar, or furniture-making project. Get in touch with your requirements and we’ll see what we’ve got in stock.
Where can our logs be burnt?
Our logs and kindling are suitable for:
Open fires
Wood-burning stoves
Biomass boilers
Fire pits & chimineas
BBQs
Standard sizes are supplied as default, but we can cut smaller or larger on request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does your firewood actually come from?
From our own tree surgery and site clearance jobs right here in Kent — the oak, ash, or chestnut we fell in a Sevenoaks or Tonbridge garden this year could well be the seasoned logs on your delivery next winter. Nothing is bought in from outside merchants; it’s a genuine byproduct of the tree work we do every day.
What's the difference between your hardwood and softwood?
Hardwoods like oak, ash, and beech burn slower and hotter, so they’re best for long, steady fires. Softer, faster-burning wood like conifer is great for getting a fire going but burns through quickly, so we’d recommend using it alongside hardwood rather than on its own. Sweet Chestnut sits in between — a hardwood that burns fast and can spark, so it’s better suited to a closed stove than an open fire.
Are your Logs Ready to Burn?
Yes! All our seasoned hardwood is barn-stored for at least a year before sale and is ready to burn at under 20% moisture dry enough for an efficient, clean burn without excess smoke.
Do you deliver, and is there a minimum order?
Yes! We offer free local delivery on all bulk orders across our regular routes in Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Maidstone and Gravesham.
Can I get logs cut to a specific size?
Yes — we supply standard sizes as default but can cut smaller or larger to suit your fireplace, stove, or fire pit on request.
